At 11am today the Premier advised that due to ongoing and unpredictable extreme weather in South East Queensland, families in the northern Moreton Bay, Sunshine Coast, Gympie and Wide Bay up to Bundaberg regions should collect their child or children from school as soon as it is safe to do so.
Schools, such as Foxwell SSC, outside of these areas will continue to support requests from parents wishing to collect their children early today.
Our Director-General has just confirmed that tomorrow, Friday 4 March, Foxwell State Secondary College will be open ONLY for children of essential workers and children experiencing vulnerability.
Children of essential workers, who attend school tomorrow, must bring a packed lunch as the canteen will be closed.
Standard lessons will not go ahead and there will be no expectation for remote learning.
We will have minimal staff on site to supervise the small number of students who may need to attend and be supervised.
Bus and train services are likely to be affected so please be sure to make use of the following websites to help plan your journey to and from school:
The school closures site continues to provide up to date information about school closures.
Stay safe, everyone, during this weather event affecting the South East.
We will continue to keep you updated with the most accurate information as possible, in a timely manner. We thank you for your support and understanding.
Stay safe!
