Extra-Curricular Update
As our response to COVID-19 is all about containment, a decision has been made to cancel the following extra-curricular activities:
- the representative school sport program which includes district, regional, state, national, interstate and international competitions
- Queensland School Sport team participation in any national, interstate or international events organised across Australia or internationally
- Rivers District Boys Basketball Gala Day
- Rivers District Girls Soccer Gala Day
- Creative Voices & G Stem excursion to HOTA for Backbone by Gravity
The following extra-curricular activities have been postponed, with further scheduling information still to be provided:
- Gold Coast Debating
- Gold Coast Secondary Schools Drama Festival Competition
- NRL 9’s Competition
- FUSE Cup
- School Basketball training
- School Netball training
- School AFL training
- NRL 9’s training
These decisions have been very difficult and not taken lightly by the organising bodies. These decisions are about supporting the effort to contain and slow the spread of COVID-19, and have also become operationally necessary based on participants, available staff, coaches, managers, umpires, referees and venues.
The following school based extra-curricular activities will continue as per their normal school schedule and in accordance with directives from Queensland Health in relation to heightened vigilance of health, hygiene and social distancing practices.

- Drama Festival Rehearsals
- Genius Bar Crew
- E-Sport
- Dance Troupe auditions
Instrumental Music lessons and rehearsals will continue as per scheduled.
