Welcome back to all of our year 9 and 10 students, and a huge welcome to all of our new students!

I have the pleasure of leading the science team in year 9 and 10. Unlike years 7 and 8, science is delivered as a discrete subject, with the purpose of delivering a robust, diverse learning experience in line with the Australian Curriculum. Students in year 9 and 10 will both begin with Biology in Term 1, before experiencing Physics, Chemistry, and Earth Science across Terms 2-4.

Students have three lesson of science a week in year 9, and two lesson of science a week in year 10. Students will be assessed on a variety of assessment types including Experimental Investigations, Research Investigations, and Examinations. There have been a myriad of additional learning experiences incorporated into this curriculum to engage, inspire, and motivate students to apply their understanding of science to the real world, and prepare them for potentially selecting science subjects in Senior School. 

I encourage all parents and carers to actively participate in their child's learning through checking OneNote and Seesaw, which is where all teacher feedback is disseminated.
