Deputy Principal Update
A warm welcome to all our Year 8 students and families. My name is Ms Nahdia McClymont, and I have the distinct privilege of undertaking the role of Deputy Principal of Year 8 for Term 1.
Many of you will know me from my previous position at the College, as Head of Physical World. I am grateful to have had the opportunity to lead in this space over the last two years at Foxwell. This has allowed me to develop a deep understanding of our community and form strong relationships with many of the students and families in Year 8. I am excited to continue to strengthen these relationships as I lead the cohort of Year 8 students. Working alongside me will be the Head of Year 8 Mr Jason Breese, and the Year 7/8 Year Level Advisor Ms Sara Tiller.
Currently, we are at the end of week 3 in the school term, and students should be well adjusted to their timetable and forming routines in establishing themselves for success at school. This includes ensuring iPads are charged every night, getting at least 8 hours of sleep, eating breakfast, leaving phones in lockers during the school day, and wearing the full College uniform with pride at all times.
It has been great to get into the classrooms this week and see the students and teachers in action. Whether it be analysing historical sources and body systems in Physical World, reading The Rabbits to understand features of a text in Social World, or identifying qualities of respectful relationships in Healthy World, Deep Learning is alive at Foxwell.
I would like to gently remind families that students are not permitted to use their mobile phone to purchase food at the canteen. The only acceptable form of payment is card and cash. Student lunches can be ordered ahead of time using our QuickCliQ online ordering and payment system, which can be accessed at https://www.quickcliq.com.au/.
I am excited and optimistic for the term head, working with all 271 Year 8 students as they continue to develop and grow through the last phase of their Wonder Years at Foxwell.
Warm regards,
Nahdia McClymont (she/her)

From the Principal,
When we know more we can do more to support our students and families!
Embracing community contributed ideas for improvement forms a large part of our Parent and Community Engagement Framework, and I continue to welcome your feedback. Thank you to those families who have reached out to me directly to share your concerns as they might pop up, and for the suggestions you always provide. Please don't ever hesitate to reach out to us here at school.
We may not always be able to tell all parties the specific details of an investigation or the consequences for any breaches of our Code of Conduct, but rest assured that they will be dealt with. If you ever have any issues, please address them with members of our Leadership Team, or me personally. Making unnecessary social media comments or posts only ever serves to damage the reputation of our College in the community, which is never in the best interests of your children in both the short term and the future. Those who know me and my team, know that we will listen, we will act and we will communicate openly and honestly. That is our promise to you. Remember Foxwell – Together we are great.
I would like to assure our community that over the past three weeks we have been in regular communication with the bus company that provides the school service for our students, Kinetic. Today I have been advised that the Kinetic Planning Deparment are in discussion with Translink in regards to this service. Over the next week Kinetic will be collating data and conducting surveys to support the school's request to improve the school bus network.
I am looking forward to providing you with an update.
