Students in Social World have entered the busy part of their term with drafting well under way across most subjects.  All task sheets have been pushed out to students on SeeSaw.  Please ask your Social World student to talk you through their tasks and the dates for drafting and final submissions.

Year 7s are busy drafting letters in role as a character from a movie studied in class.  They will aim to demonstrate their knowledge of their character's strenghts and weaknesses and have engaged in work with the VIA Character Strenghts website to help identify these.

Our Year 8s have finished their class novels and are in the process of drafting, with their first checkpoint due this week.  This checkpoint is only of their introduction and first body paragraph.  Check in with your students to see what novel they have engaged with and how their essay writing is going.  I would like to remind students that they have access to Writer's Toolbox which is an incredible resource to input drafts into in order to gain instant feedback on our sentence style use and vocabulary use.

Across the Arts component of Social World, students are engaging in their creation of Drama, Dance, Visual Arts and Media Arts works within their classes.  They have been planning and producing some incredible work.

I would like to remind families that WIN time is an incredible resource at Foxwell SSC that students can utilise during this busy time of the term to access help with their assessment.  This is run both in the mornings before school and also after school until 4pm.  SeeSaw is also a great resource for families to be checking in with to ensure that their students are on task to experience success. Teachers will provide written feedback via SeeSaw.
