Deputy Principal's Update
REMINDERS
I wanted to issue some reminders in this weekend bulletin.
Please take advantage of our Student-led Conferences next week to meet some of your child's teachers and to continue to build on the partnership between school and home. The stronger the relationship, the more beneficial for your child.
Please also take the time to chat with our new Head of Year 7, Ms Tara Goldhardt, HoD SWEL Yr7/8, Mr Berrell or myself, next Tuesday evening if there is anything we can assist with.
Welcome Ms Goldhardt, who will join Mr Berrell, Ms Tiller and myself in the support of your children, next week. Ms Goldhardt has now had some opportunity to get to know the role and from next week will be released from some iof her teaching load to be more available to engage in this space. I look forward to working alongside her and you to support your child's needs.
Ms Tara Goldhardt - Head of Year 7.

BOOKINGS CLOSE - 9AM MONDAY MORNING
IS YOUR CHILD READY TO LEARN?
I once again seek your support in ensuring that your child is coming to school ready to learn each morning;
- Arriving at their class on time - Period 1 commences at 8.45am.
- Arriving at class on time after every break.
- Remaining in the classroom, to the best of their ability, for the duration of the lesson, meaning, they have accessed the bathroom during break times.
- Having the required equipment - fully charged iPad, Apple Pencil, notebook pencil case and calculator as the minimum. Please refer to stationery list from provided at enrolment. We have many instances, daily where student attempt to enter classrooms with zero equipment. This makes it very difficult for them to engage in learning experiences.
Students who are repeatedly late to class, leave class without permission, disrupt learning, or come without learning equipment (and no valid excuse) will have consequences applied.
Students, in-class and learning, is our priority.
ASSESSMENT CALENDARS
Our Term 3 assessment calendars were released to students through their notices at the end of Week 2, as per our schedule. Thank you in advance for supporting your child in becoming and remaining organised and on track for success by ensuring that they engage with the assessment calendar to identify key due dates and effectively plan to meet required deadlines. As I have mentioned before, this is a big change from primary school and as we move into Semester 2, our goal is to build student ownership of their learning and assessment.
If you have any concerns about assessment, please communicate, firstly with the classroom teacher and secondly with the Head of Department for the subject. If you still require further support or clarity, please contact Ms Goldhardt, Head of Year 7.
I look forward to seeing you on Tuesday evening.
Until then, take care.
