Healthy World

As the school year progresses, it is important to emphasise the vital role you play in your child's study of Health and Physical Education. Your active involvement in monitoring their engagement in schoolwork and practical activities as well as communication with their teachers is essential for their success and overall well-being.

By regularly discussing your child's coursework, assignments, and due dates, you can gauge their understanding of the material and identify any areas where they might need additional support. Ensuring they are on track helps them stay motivated and confident in their studies.

Here are some practical steps you can take:

  1. Set Regular Check-in Times: Dedicate a specific time each week to discuss your child's school progress in Healthy World/HPE. This consistency will help establish the routine of open communication.

  2. Use Digital Tools: OneNote is our learning platform, and all course work is provided to students here. Ensure familiararity and monitor students completion of assigned tasks. Utilise email to stay in touch with teachers - this platform provides an easy way to exchange information and updates.

  3. Encourage Independence: While supporting your child, also encourage them to take initiative in communicating with their Healthy World and HPE teachers. This helps them develop responsibility and accountability.

  4. Ensure Preparedness: Encourage your child to have routine, preparing practical uniform (including a hat) for practical lessons and a fully charged iPad for theory days. Setting these out the night before is a great strategy.

  5. Foster Organisation and Time Management: Establish ways for your child to keep track of due dates, such as completion of homework and assessment tasks, by setting reminders, using a calendar or diary or even a poster.

Remember, your involvement and encouragement make a significant difference in your child's Health and Physical Education journey. By working together, we can ensure that your child receives the support and guidance they need to thrive academically and personally, through and in sport.
