What an incredible term for the Arts at Foxwell. Students from all of our Arts areas have been achieving incredible results during Eisteddfod season and we could not be prouder of how they are representing our College while shining upon the stage.
Our Dance Troupe and Creative Voices performance teams took to the stage at the QUOTA Beenleigh Eisteddfod at the Logan Entertainment Centre and earned three second place trophies for their Hip-hop, Contemporary and Pom routines. While the Creative Voices students were awarded a Highly Commended certificate for their Musical Theatre piece. We are so proud of these students and their commitment to the Arts at Foxwell. The Dance Troupe have one more day of performances coming up as they take to the stage at the Gold Coast Eisteddfod later this month.

Our Junior Drama Festival students took to the stage on the weekend at the 51st Gold Coast Secondary School's Drama Festival with an incredibly moving performance. Our entry was awarded Best Overall Play of the Festival which is wonderful recognition of the dedication and commitment of these students and their director, Miss Wilkie. This piece was also awared Best Dramatic Performance and Year 8 student, Wyatt, received a prestigious Best Actor trophy for his work within the production. For many of these students, this was their first time pariticipating at this festival and it was wonderful to see our Year 8's mentor and nurture our Year 7 performers. We look forward to our Intermediate team taking to the stage this weekend to represent Foxwell and The Arts.
This week our Strings students under the direction of Mrs Cardno performed at the Gold Coast Eisteddfod. This is only the second time that Foxwell has taken to the stage in this Eisteddfod. Our students performed two beautiful pieces of music and were very deserving of their First Place win. This Eisteddfod continues over many weeks with our Band students taking to the stage on the 14th of August and our Choir performing on the 23rd of August. Both performances are held at Glow Church, Robina, and begin at 7pm.
