This semester our ALP students are working on their Engineering unit that follows a design process. Our Year 7 students are building bridges from popsicle sticks and glue that must span at least 70cm and hold as much weight as possible. Our record for weight to beat is 60kg! Our Year 8 students are building on the skills they acquired in Year 7 to build earthquake resistant buildings. Our Year 9 students are building on their skills learnt across their years in ALP to pursue their own choice of topics with the intention of educating a select group of people.   Students are investigating a range of projects such as the beauty industry, advanced engineering and mechanics, future pathways, experiments in areas of psychology, social experiments and mentoring to name a few.  Their outcome for their project is gaining knowledge and sharing this with select demographics that will alter the way they decide to deliver.

During our ALP lessons, students engage with each other and work collaboratively to apply critical and creative thinking that will solve problems. This involves defining, ideating, planning, discussing, prototyping, testing and reworking proposed ideas and solutions.
