Years 7 and 8 Gen STEM Update
This term, our Year 7 and 8 Gen STEM students, as well as one Year 9 Gen STEM team, have been diligently preparing for the Wonder of Science Regional Conference. The Wonder of Science program encourages students to engage in STEM subjects by tackling real-world problems with innovative solutions.
On Wednesday, 19th June, year level teams competed against each other. They were scored on creativity, scientific understanding, and presentation skills. Their hard work and dedication paid off as they delivered outstanding presentations. The winning teams will compete against other teams from all over the state in November at the University of Queensland.
At the regional conference, students also participated in science workshops run by Youth Science Ambassadors who are studying their PhDs at the University of Queensland. They then participated in a speed meeting round with the ambassadors to learn about their research projects and university life. We are incredibly proud of the students’ achievements and the effort they put into their projects. Well done to all our budding scientists!
