Principal's Report

It’s been a wonderful week here at Foxwell, seeing our students flourish in various different ways.
I commend our students on their behaviour, engagement, perseverance and teamwork. Our students continue to work closely with their teachers who provide ongoing feedback and support students in developing and attaining their learning goals.
We encourage parents to continue to be involved in conversations with their children and the teachers regarding student progress.
THE FUTURE OF OUR SCHOOL – HAVE YOUR SAY! FOCUS GROUPS
We are currently in the process of developing our educational program for our Year 7 and 8 students for 2021.
We are reviewing our ways of working to ensure that they are best meeting the needs of our students. We will be considering our day structure including start and finish times and break times; class structures including whether (or not) classes remain together for all subjects; whether we have specific class groupings for our Excellence programs, and any other suggestions from our parent community.
We would love a diverse representation of parents to be involved so that we can cater for all students in our school. Please consider joining our P & C meeting this week via ZOOM to have your say. Your input can remain anonymous as we will be using an online tool called Menti.com to gather parent feedback. Details about how to RSVP or register are available in the P & C section of this newsletter.
BUSINESS PARTNERSHIPS AND SPONSORSHIP OPPORTUNITIES
We are very grateful to Stockland Foreshore – Coomera who are our school’s major sponsor for 2020. Their sponsorship has allowed us to obtain two buses for our school which will be used to transport our students to various events across the Gold Coast and Brisbane. These buses look absolutely fantastic thanks to our student ‘models’ and the work of Ms Fishburn. We are sure that they will stand out and be another great advertisement of what Foxwell has to offer to students of the Northern Gold Coast.
We are finalising a number of other Bronze, Silver, Gold and Platinum sponsorship agreements this week which will provide additional benefits to our students and school community. If you have, or know of, a local or Australian business that would love to partner with us, please contact Kimberley Knowles, our Business Manager. There are many mutual benefits for sponsors and business partners. Together we can achieve so much more!
OPPORTUNITIES GALORE FOR OUR STUDENTS
Students at Foxwell are fortunate to have a large number of extra and co-curricular programs and activities available to them. This includes art clubs, chess clubs, Drama Festival, sports teams and fitness training, WIN time, eSports, to name just a few.
This week I want to highlight the Sporting Minds program and the many benefits our students can obtain through their involvement in this program. Our students are loving their weekly before school training sessions, and their Sporting Minds Enrich program each Wednesday afternoon. They look fantastic in their new Sporting Minds kits and proudly wear to this to school one day per week. Very soon they will also have access to a unique App called Foxwellness – Powered by Inspire, which is a health, wellbeing, and performance tracking app that will support our students to be the best they can be in both mind and body. Further information about this App will be provided to Sporting Minds students and parents in the coming weeks. Here is a sneak peak video which outlines that we also intend to open this up to all students and staff it the second stage of our rollout. We truly believe that you have to be well to excel.
COVID 19 – SAFE
We continue to keep updated on all Health advice regarding COVID-19 and will ensure that we are following the best advice prioritise the safety and wellbeing of our school community. Please ensure that you keep updated via our newsletters, bulletins and Facebook page as these are the places where we will communicate critical information should the need arise. In the meantime, we ask all students, staff and parents to continue to hand sanitise, stay home if you are sick, and maintain appropriate social distancing (where required).
Stay safe and well. Until next time.
Until next time
