Parent-Teacher Conferences – Term 4

We know the value of working in close partnership with families so that all students are supported in their learning. Our Parent-Teacher Conferences in Term 2 were very helpful in allowing families and teachers to focus specifically on students, their achievement, effort and learning behaviour, and which strategies could be implemented in working towards improvement. In Term 4, our intention is to provide this opportunity for families and teachers to again engage in these conversations, though the format will be quite different. For this cycle of conferences, we ask that families do the following:

1. Engage in conversations with your child regarding their learning in Term 3.

2. Ask your child to share their Planning for Personal Accomplishment documentation, developed early in Term 3, and work together to reflect on how your child has progressed in relation to their plan and overall Term 3 learning experience. Your child will have other information to discuss with you, such as teacher feedback, results for assessment and reflections completed in class.

3. If you wish to engage in a Parent-Teacher Conference with a particular teacher or teachers, contact the teacher/s via email and schedule a time for a 10-minute conference regarding your child. THESE MEETINGS ARE TO BE SCHEDULED DURING WEEK 2 OF TERM 4, MONDAY 12 OCTOBER TO FRIDAY 16 OCTOBER. Teachers will endeavour to respond to your requests as quickly as possible. Some teachers will be available between 9.00am and 3.00pm if they are not in scheduled classes or other work-related sessions. Teachers will not be able to engage in conversations after 5.30pm. The teacher may request to engage with you via Zoom or telephone.

The full list of teachers’ email addresses is provided below.

4. In preparing for the conference, have some notes and questions ready, as well as pen and paper to take notes on your discussion.

This process should provide a little more flexibility for families in scheduling times to conference with teachers about their children’s learning. We look forward to sharing these conversations with you.
