Extra Curricular Opportunities

Anime Club:

The Japanese Department would like to welcome all students to join our Foxwell Anime Club. The first meeting will take place on Monday 8th February. Interested students are to go to the Lecture Theatre between 11:40am - 12:15pm every week.

Esports:

Esports is an exciting way to participate in sports digitally. Our Esports athletes participate in weekly competitions leading up to the regional competition each term through FUSE Cup. We play MarioKart, Soccer, Just Dance, and a range of other sports.

Our Esports Arena commences on Monday February 8 at 3:15 – 4:30 in the school’s auditorium with Mr Power and Mr Kerwin. To attend, students will need to ensure they have returned the permission form which has been made available this week. Unless arranged by a parent, eSports athletes remain are expected to stay until 4:30 each week and also need to bring their iPad with them.

Genius Bar:

The school’s Apple Genius Bar will recommence this year with Mr Newton-Smith. As places are limited, an application form will be available early in Week 3 and details of how to apply provided on SharePoint.

Garageband Musos:

Mr Kerwin is seeking interest from students who would like to be part of the GarageBand Musos digital band. Being a GarageBand Muso does not preclude involvement in the amazing music programs available in the school. Rather it is an alternative way for students to jam together and enjoy developing original electronic music. Places will be limited. Mr Kerwin will organise a meeting for interested students early in Week 3.

Debating:

Students interested in Debating are to see Ms Goddaer in the Staff Centre to express their interest.

Students will receive further information as soon as it is available regarding practice times and dates and times for debates. A meeting will be held for all interested students on Tuesday 9/02 in E2.25 at lunch to provide further information and outline what is involved.

Instrumental Music:

Students who have not yet had the opportunity to express their interest in participating in Instrumental Music in 2021 are asked to see Mrs McLennan in the Staff Centre. Alternatively, parents and students can email Mrs McLennan at cmcle209@eq.edu.au

Art Club:

This is the place to get creative, develop techniques and collaborate with other art-minded students all while enjoying a range of Art and Craft activities each week.

Activities will change weekly and may include: drawing, painting, colouring, weaving and a variety of crafts using a range of materials and techniques.

Students who would like to be involved, please join Miss Swader in the Upper Level of the Learning Hub on Mondays between 12-12.30.

Please note: Participant numbers will be limited, sign-on is required each week at the door - please be on time.
