AFL

This week our extra-curricular AFL program was capped off by a behind the scenes tour of Metricon stadium, home of the Gold Coast Suns. Students were able to step into the shoes of AFL & AFLW athletes, exploring the high performance training facilities, the coaches' box, locker rooms and more. Student were also gifted family passes for this week’s Suns match! We are so thankful for this relationship with the Gold Coast Suns, where we can provide once in a lifetime experiences like this for our students. 

Rugby League

We are so proud to announce that our Rugby League team, under the coaching excellence of Mr Jesse Way, has played their way to the top in the Titans Schools League competition this term. They will be playing off in a Grand Final after school this coming Monday at Bill Norris Oval, Beenleigh. As soon as we receive details of game time we will share with you all as we know the boys would love to have your support at the fields.

Athletics

Today we held our 2021 Athletics Carnival which we hope was enjoyed by all. More details of the standout performances will be announced in future newsletters, as our overall winners cannot yet be determined! Week 10 lunchtimes will play host to the 800m, 1500m and Javelin events for all ages, with specific details posted to our Student SharePoint.

Clinic with Scott McDonald

Monday we have a fantastic opportunity for our students to enjoy a FREE clinic provided by A-League player (and former Socceroo), Scott McDonald. All students are invited to attend but as we need to confirm numbers, students are asked to register their interest by emailing Mrs Bullock at emgil0@eq.edu.au

All Schools Touch trials.

Next Monday and Wednesday, Mr Saye will be holding All School's Touch trials for our boys and girls teams respectively. He is looking for students turning 13 or younger this year to come down and try out for a spot on the team. All School's Touch Football is the biggest touch competition in the southern hemisphere. Be sure your child sees Mr Saye before the trial date if they have missed the sign-ons.

Inter-School Sport

A reminder that interschool sport will return next term from Week 2. Looking forward to seeing our teams continue playing with the Foxwell Spirit against other schools in our school cluster.

Broadwater Trials

Currently Boys 10-12yrs Cricket trials for Broadwater representation is being advertised. The trial is not being held until next term. If students are interested please see Mr Taylor for a note and details about the trial.
