Community Connections
Foxwell SSC Arts and Science staff had the privilege to work with some talented and eager Year 6 students from Coomera Rivers SS over the last two weeks, making a wonderful community connection between our schools.
Senior students (Yr 6) elected to engage in a wonderful science workshop lead by Mrs Suni Moraes where students investigated acids, bases and neutralisation reactions.
Experienced senior teachers, Mrs Collette Wilson and Mrs Cara McLennan ran a physical collage drama workshop where students considered their predictions about high school through freeze frames, expression and written text.
Dance specialist, Mrs Lauren Riches engaged a group of high-energy students in a dance workshop where they explored how choreographic devices are applied to movement, by learning a short hip-hop routine.
Head of Department, Mrs Cara McLennan finalised our visit with a drawing workshop which saw students design both digital and pencil works from given stimulus.
We look forward to our continued collaborations with Coomera Rivers SS.
