Our ALP students are all working on a variety of projects on issues, ideas, concerns and questions that they want to investigate. We would love you to come along to our Showcase at the beginning of Term 3 on Wednesday 20th July where students will share their projects with our community!
These are just some of the topics our students are researching and preparing to share are:
How do Special Services cope with stress?
How do adolescent friendships impact your future?
How is our brain affected by advertising?
How does music affect your brain?
How do extreme hot or cold temperatures affect your body?
What is VR and how can it have a positive impact on our society?
What is the impact of pollution on our world and how can we minimise or prevent this impact?
How does dopamine affect teenage brains in gaming and gambling within games?
To what extent has the wheel impacted the development of society and humanity?
Is the romanticising of pirates helpful or harmful?
Does gaming increase creativity?
How do we know we see the same colours as another person?
As you can see, our students are researching a diverse range of topics and issues. Come along and see what their results are!

We have engaged the expertise of our School Based Youth Health Nurse team to deliver an informative and relevant health promotion that has meaningful links with our Health and Physical Education curriculum. Using evidence-based research and best practice, our Metro South team of nurses will discuss topics such as communication, consent, sexual health and the supports available to adolescents. This learning will occur on Thursday 16th June across periods three and four.
We understand some parents may wish to remove their child from this learning opportunity. If you would like your child to opt out, please email Pascale Street - ppier6@eq.edu.au directly and an alternative learning opportunity will be provided.
Year 9 Activate - Grand Final and People's Choice Awards
Year 9 students have been learning about and employing entrepreneurial skills in their Activate program this Semester. On Thursday 16June 2022 (Week 9), our students will be showcasing their social enterprise ideas in our new Performing Arts Centre! Please come along and support our students and hear about their business ideas, services and products. Our finalists have the opportunity to progress to state and national finals as the year progresses, with major prizes and sponsorship up for grabs!
From 3:30-4:30pm: come and see our students' static presentations and vote in our People’s Choice Awards for the idea that you believes stands out from the crowd
From 5:00-7:00pm: join our audience as our students pitch their social enterprise ideas via a live pitch to our panel of experts from local businesses as well as leaders in our community.
Our P and C will operate a canteen at the PAC to purchase drinks and snacks prior to the Live Pitches.
