What an exciting week it has been for our Foxwell State Secondary College community.
Our stand out for this week was our Design Your Future School workshop aboard The Yot Club. Thank you to the students, parents and carers, and staff who worked collaboratively through a range of questions allowing us to define what success looks like for our school and our students.
We truly value the level of communication and collaboration that has occurred to date in our school community, and we will ensure this continues into our future. We will be sharing the findings from this workshop at the upcoming Information Night.
We have now held over 100 Enrolment Interviews and I have been impressed by the level of confidence and passion for learning that our students have demonstrated during their interviews. I look forward to meeting more of our enrolling students over the coming weeks. We have held our first two uniform try-on days and the feedback from our uniform supplier, UMS has been incredibly positive. They work with many schools across Australia and have commented that our students are particularly polite, respectful and show true gratitude.
We are particularly grateful for the support of our local community and I want to take this opportunity to thank a few stand-out organisations for their generosity and partnerships. Thank you to Picnic Creek State School, Coomera Rivers State School, The YOT Club, IGA Coomera Waters, Stocklands Foreshore, Hardy Boys Cafe - Westfield Coomera, Coomera Springs State School, Coomera State School, and of course our amazing building team from FKG.
Our school site is progressing well and you would have seen the recent clearing of our land for the two full size sports ovals and the preparation work for our bus bays and signalled intersection.
The building of our school is on schedule. Our team can’t wait to move in during December of this year, and more importantly can’t wait until we welcome our first students through the gates in January 2020.
Until next time

Principal

On Monday 9th December, we will welcome all 2020 enrolled students to our Transition Day.
