Welcome to Week 4!
With the term well underway, our Year 9s are exploring new units and in some cases, subject areas through their Term 3 PEC offering.
While assessment may feel like a way off yet, as parents and carers, you play a crucial rol in supporting your child's academic journey. Effective learners have established effective learning behaviours and these habits set your child up for success. These habits include; creating a dedicated study space or homework area where students can get involved in their school work without distractions; setting achievable goals to strive towards; and planning and priortising - it's so wonderful to hear of our students obtaining part time work, but it is also important to ensure that work, school and sporting or other extra curricular activities have dedicated time in their weekly schedule. Most importantly, quality sleep matters! Sleep boosts memory, concentration and overall wellbeing.
In the coming week, if your student participated in NAPLAN testing, they will receive their printed reports. Ask your child about these this week or keep an eye out for them in school bags.
Additionally, you will have received an email with instructions to set up Student Led Conferences appointments. These conferences will take place on Tuesday 8 August. We look forward to having you and our students engaged in powerful conversations with their teachers.
As always, if you have any concerns or questions, please don't hesitate to get in touch with the Year 9 Team;
Head of Year - Sarah Wagstaff
Year Level Assistant - Amy Benbow
HOD Student Wellbeing Engagement and Learning - Caysha Renton
or myself.
Until next time.
