We welcome our families to our Parent-Teacher Conferences to be held next Monday. These conferences provide an opportunity to: engage in personalised conversations regarding students’ learning and progress; gain insights from the teachers regarding feedback; and identify strategies that may assist your child in developing her/his abilities even further. Please note the following information:

Location                         Foxwell SSC's Sports Performance Centre

Please follow the marked entry and exit pathways and the relevant directions from the carpark. A waiting area will be available in the Amphitheatre. Refreshments will be available at the Canteen. The Learning Hub will be open until 4.00pm, as usual, if students are awaiting the arrival of their parents/guardians.

Conference Sessions    

All sessions will be 10 minutes in length, which will include time to transition between conferences. A warning bell will sound after 9 minutes to facilitate efficient movement between conferences.

Booking a Session       

Please follow the link below and instructions issued with your child’s Report Card to make bookings with teachers. It would be appreciated if bookings can be finalised by 3.00pm on Thursday 16 July 2020. Please remember to bring a copy of your booking schedule with you on the day.

Please ensure that your child attends these conferences with you. We recommend that students bring their iPads to the Parent Teacher Conferences. This will allow teachers the opportunity to share evidence of student learning during the session. Please also bring a pen.

Should you be unable to attend on 20 July, please contact your child’s teacher/s to make alternative arrangements.

At our upcoming Parent-Teacher Conferences, we are excited to host a number of short information sessions for parents on Seesaw, SharePoint and and Parental Controls for iPad.

We ask that parents book in for sessions, due to limited places. You will book in for sessions in the same way that you have booked interviews with teachers in Schoolzine. First, determine the session you would like to attend and the time. Select Digital Technologies Information Session with Kate Shepherd as the teacher and book in for the allocated time.

We recommend parents allow 20 minutes for each session, so please do not book an interview within that timeframe.

How to set up Seesaw for Parents

In this session, parents will have the opportunity to create a Parent Seesaw account that allows access to their student’s Seesaw portfolio. This session will also give a brief overview of the ways in which parents, teachers and students can interact within the platform.

Prior to attending this session we recommend you download the Seesaw Family app on your personal iPhone, iPad or Android device. This needs to be separate to your student’s iPad.

Parental Controls for Parents

In this session, parents will have the opportunity to set up Parental Controls on their student’s iPad. This will include setting up Screen Time restrictions, ensuring your child accesses the appropriate applications within parent preferred time frames.

 Your child’s iPad is required for this session, and you will need to know their Passcode.

SharePoint for Parents

In this session, parents will have the opportunity to set up SharePoint on their own personal iPhone, iPad or Android device. This will allow access to the School Calendar, Assessment & Learning Calendar as well as Student Daily Notices.

Prior to attending this session you will need your child’s MIS ID and password.

We are excited to announce that School Assemblies will commence from Week 2!

While our assembly during Term 3 will be attended by students and staff only, we endeavour to be able to welcome parents and family members each fortnight from Term 4. In the interim, our assembly will be recorded and released on our YouTube channel each following Friday.

School photo packages have arrived. If you ordered and paid for for a school photo earlier in the year during Term 1, these packages are now being handed to students. Please be sure to check with your child regarding this. Don't forget to check their school bag.
