Once again, we wish to begin this update expressing both pride and gratitude. We are immensely proud of our students, both those learning at home and those here at school. The effort they are making in completing their learning, in our on-line environment, is outstanding. Students are seeking help when they need it and are not letting minor technological hiccups stand in their way. We are seeing some great displays of perseverance.
We are proud of and grateful to our staff who have had to change the mode of delivery of learning and who continue to support students across the cohort both on-line and in person.
We are also proud and grateful to our parents and carers for the support which is being provided to students in making our Continuity of Learning Plan come to life, at home.
We must remember that we are living in complex times and that we cannot expect things to remain the same as they always were. As a school, we are continuing to be flexible and responsive to the needs of our students. We have taken on board feedback from both parents and students regarding our Continuity of Learning Plan. You would have seen earlier this week that we made a decision, in the interest of student wellbeing, to reduce the learning load for our students.
Our updated Learning schedule:
We encourage our students to continue to be responsible and continue to show perseverance when completing their learning tasks. We ask that all tasks be completed to the best of each student's ability and submitted in the manner and within the time frames as requested by our teachers. Part of students being responsible, is to seek help when they need it. Please remind students that they can contact their teachers, through Seesaw should they have any concerns with their work.
Please find attached the assessment calendar for this term. This calendar indicates the summative tasks, for each subject, which will be taken into consideration for reporting purposes. It is important that students are familiar with the due dates and the task requirements. These will have been communicated on task sheets as well as through daily lessons.
We are, now more than ever, relying on the home-school partnership to support our students. Our greatest concern and priority through all of this is our students’ wellbeing. If you have ongoing concerns regarding the impact that our Continuity of Learning Plan is having on your child’s wellbeing, please let us know.

We are very excited to have received handover of our 120 seat Lecture Theatre today.
The Lecture Theatre is located in E Block, Ground Floor. The Lecture Theatre is fully equipped with excellent audio visual including a teacher camera system.
This means that our teachers can be completing a science experiment or demonstrating a dance routine and their image and the lesson is broadcast on the big screen.
We cannot wait for our students to experience learning in our new, state of the art, Lecture Theatre!
Upon enrolment, all families were asked to complete a Third Party Consent form for a range of web-based service provider/s accessed by the school for curriculum purposes. On the 24th April we sent to families an updated Third Party Consent form requesting approval to introduce additional web based educational resources. Next week we will be making contact with all families that have not yet had an opportunity to return the original, or updated Third Party Consent form. If you are aware that you have not yet returned either of these forms, please take a moment to complete the attached Third Party Consent form and return via email to admin@foxwellssc.eq.edu.au.
Please note that the form attached to this bulletin is a collated version of both the original form completed on enrolment and the updated version issued on the 24th April.
Our school and teachers make decisions about the best technology to meet the needs of our students. Sometimes it is beneficial for students to utilise services provided by third party web-based providers. For your child to use the service, the teacher will need to register them as a user. Registering with these providers requires student personal information to be disclosed to the provider of the service. In the case of the services outlined below they are private companies that are hosted onshore in Australia and outside of Australia.
Please take a moment to read the attached document and if you agree to provide third party consent, tick each checkbox and complete your details and sign on the third page and then return to the school, ideally by email to admin@foxwellssc.eq.edu.au.
Every day kids are being bullied online, and sometimes it’s done right under our noses – at the dinner table, while watching television, in the bath.
Gone are the days where parents could see schoolyard bullying, now the antagonisers are sitting behind a screen, hidden from view, yet always there.
Dolly's Dream has released a powerful online bullying video, Are Your Words Doing Damage? which offers a glimpse of what many kids are facing day after day, calling out the dark world of online bullying and exposing the issues that the modern kid can face.
Take a moment to watch this exploration of bullying in the modern world.
If viewing this video has left you feeling overwhelmed or in need of support, please know that there are services available to help. For telephone 24/7 crisis or suicide prevention support, please call Lifeline on 13 11 14 or visit www.lifeline.org.au/gethelp. In an emergency, call 000.
