Today you will receive, via email, your child’s Report Card for Semester 1, 2021. Please be aware that this Report Card provides cumulative results for Academic Achievement, Effort and Behaviour across Terms 1 and 2. Due to their differences in their curriculum, The Arts subjects are reported on separately, with students receiving a term result for each Arts subject they studied in Semester 1.
Please be aware that if your child enrolled during Term 2 or was absent for a significant period of time and, therefore, has not had the opportunity to demonstrate achievement in a subject, they will receive a report for Effort and Behaviour only.
Parent-Teacher Conferences will be held on Tuesday 20th July 2021 from 3.10pm to 7.30pm. These conferences are an invaluable opportunity to meet with your child’s teachers and further explore their progress this year. It is also helpful to gain insights from the teachers regarding feedback, strategies for improvement and any other considerations that may assist your child in developing their abilities even further.
In Week 1 of next term, you will receive an email outlining the process for booking conferences. In the meantime, please take the time to review your child’s progress together with them, engaging in the work they have completed in class, the evidence of their learning in Seesaw – including feedback from their teachers – as well as the information they can share with you about their learning. Good questions to ask, at any time, are:
- How did you go/how are you going with your learning?
- How do you know that this is how you are progressing?
- What are you doing to improve/which strategies are you implementing to improve in your learning and progress?
- How will you know if your strategies are working?
Learning dialogues are effective in engaging all partners in your child’s learning so it is helpful to make this a habit or routine in your home. We look forward to seeing you on 20th July in our Sports Performance Hall for our conferences.
At Foxwell State Secondary College we acknowledge the Bullongin people, the Traditional Owners of the land on which we gather each day to learn and work, and we acknowledge the Kombumerri and Yuggerah people who are the Traditional Custodians of this land.
The theme for NAIDOC 2021, “Heal Country” calls on us to continue to seek greater protections for our lands, our waters, our sacred sites and our cultural heritage from exploitation, desecration, and destruction. The theme invites the nation to embrace First Nations' cultural knowledges and understanding of Country as part of Australia’s national heritage, and to equally respect the cultures and values of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples as they do the cultures and values of all Australians. Heal Country, heal our nation.
At Foxwell we will be hosting a special NAIDOC assembly on Wednesday 14th July to celebrate the history, cultures and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. There will be many opportunities during the first week of Term 3 for students to celebrate NAIDOC and to learn more about Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities. Activities planned include cultural dancers, art workshops, NAIDOC trivia and traditional indigenous games.
Our athletes took on the weather this week and won, finalising our 2021 athletics events with the 1500m, 800m and javelin held at lunchtimes. We are madly compiling results and will be announcing our winning house as well as age champions at our Week 1 Assembly!

If your child does not yet have a school jumper, please make the appropriate arrangements.
Remembering that the wattle coloured, knit, v-neck jumper is to be worn with the formal uniform and that the sports jacket is ONLY to be worn with the sports uniform or Excellence uniforms on their designated day of the week.
If your child has lost a hat, please organise a replacement ASAP. The formal hat and the sports hat are required with the respective uniform and must be worn whenever a child is outside classrooms, including on the way to and from school. Students without a hat must have a note from home to explain any temporary reason for not having any item of uniform. Without a note of explanation, a student will be issued with a detention, if no member of the family can bring the missing item to school.
We appreciate your support in maintaining the high expectations of our College.
The uniform shop is open three days per week:
- Tuesday from 8.00 to 11.00am
- Wednesday from 3.00-4.40pm
- Thursday from 8.00-11.00am
